Dweezil Zappa is an American rock guitarist and the son of Frank Zappa, and he was around the music industry from the start: he learned directly from guitarists including Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen, and released his first single — produced by Van Halen — at the age of 12. He writes and records his own music, and has spent years carrying his father's catalogue on stage with Zappa Plays Zappa, a band whose line-up has often included Zappa alumni such as Napoleon Murphy Brock, Steve Vai and Terry Bozzio.
