The Birchmere is a concert hall on Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia, billed as 'America's Legendary Music Hall.' Opened as a restaurant in 1966 and presenting live music since 1975, its intimate main room seats about 500 at tables for rock, blues, bluegrass, country, folk and jazz. Dweezil Zappa is an American rock guitarist and the son of Frank Zappa, and he was around the music industry from the start: he learned directly from guitarists including Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen, and released his first single — produced by Van Halen — at the age of 12.
