The Majestic Theatre is a 600-capacity live-music venue in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, and the city's oldest theatre. Opened in 1906 as a vaudeville house and later a cinema, it was restored in 2007 and now runs club shows and DJ nights several nights a week. Tank and the Bangas formed in 2011 in New Orleans, out of an open mic called Liberation Lounge at the now-closed Blackstar Cafe and Books in Algiers.
