Belltown's fabled club, a fixture of the Seattle scene since 1991 — closed in 2007, reopened in 2009 with owners including Alice in Chains' Sean Kinney, and still the city's tastemaker room. Tank and the Bangas formed in 2011 in New Orleans, out of an open mic called Liberation Lounge at the now-closed Blackstar Cafe and Books in Algiers.
