Cambridge Corn Exchange is a concert and events venue on Wheeler Street in central Cambridge, England. Built in the Victorian era as a trading hall for corn merchants, the Grade II listed building is now the city's principal stage for touring music, comedy and pantomime. Del Amitri formed in Glasgow in 1980 around songwriter Justin Currie, whose account of the name is refreshingly unromantic: a corruption of "Dimitri", half-remembered from a film's closing credits in 1979, and emphatically not Greek for "from the womb".
