The Music Hall is a concert hall on Union Street in central Aberdeen, Scotland, occupying the city's former Assembly Rooms and serving as one of north-east Scotland's principal venues for concerts and touring shows. Del Amitri formed in Glasgow in 1980 around songwriter Justin Currie, whose account of the name is refreshingly unromantic: a corruption of "Dimitri", half-remembered from a film's closing credits in 1979, and emphatically not Greek for "from the womb".
