About
Journey are an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, the Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch. They had their biggest commercial success between 1978 and 1987 with Steve Perry on lead vocals: Escape reached number one on the Billboard 200 and Frontiers (1983) reached number two. In 2024 "Don't Stop Believin'" was certified 18-times platinum by the RIAA, becoming the top-selling digital track in US history. Arnel Pineda has sung lead since 2007, alongside Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo, Jason Derlatka and Todd Jensen. In October 2025 it was announced that Cain would depart after a final tour, and the band's farewell tour, dubbed the Final Frontier Tour, began in North America in February 2026.

Who is the opening act for Journey at the Saddledome on 26 September?
Nobody, and that is deliberate. Ticketmaster bills the Calgary date — like every Canadian night of the Final Frontier Tour — as "Final Frontier Tour (An Evening With)", which is the industry's way of saying the headliner has the stage to itself all night. Same at Rogers Place in Edmonton, SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon and Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, all ticketed for 7.30pm.
