A multi-purpose arena in the Heartside district of Grand Rapids, Michigan, seating 10,834 for ice hockey and up to 13,184 for concerts, which makes it the largest arena in West Michigan and the fourth-largest in the state. It opened on 8 October 1996 after a $78 million build and is named for its largest benefactors, Jay and Betty Van Andel. It is home to the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Grand Rapids Gold and the Grand Rapids Rise. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is an American neoclassical metal band founded in 1996 by the producer, composer and lyricist Paul O'Neill, who assembled a creative core around Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli, both of Savatage, and the keyboardist and co-producer Robert Kinkel.
