The Boiler Shop is a live music and entertainment venue in Newcastle upon Tyne, housed in the former offices and workshops of the Robert Stephenson and Company locomotive works dating from 1823. The Grade II* listed building reopened in its current form as a music venue. The Skids were a Scottish punk and new-wave band formed in Dunfermline in 1977, fronted by Richard Jobson and featuring guitarist Stuart Adamson (later of Big Country), best known for the 1979 single 'Into the Valley.'
