The Boiler Shop is a live music and entertainment venue in Newcastle upon Tyne, housed in the former offices and workshops of the Robert Stephenson and Company locomotive works dating from 1823. The Grade II* listed building reopened in its current form as a music venue. The Orb are a British electronic group formed in London in 1988 around Alex Paterson, pioneers of ambient house whose sprawling early tracks and the 1991 album The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld helped define post-acid-house chill-out music.
