A 2,896-seat 1927 picture palace on the St Kilda foreshore — Australia's largest seated theatre and a heritage jewel of Melbourne live music. The Dandy Warhols formed in Portland, Oregon in 1994 around the singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and the guitarist Peter Holmström, joined by the keyboardist Zia McCabe and the drummer Eric Hedford, whose place went in 1998 to Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer.
