M&S Bank Arena Liverpool is an indoor arena at King's Dock on Liverpool's waterfront, England, holding up to around 11,000 people. Opened in 2008 as the Echo Arena and renamed under an M&S Bank sponsorship in 2019, it forms part of the ACC Liverpool complex. Steven Patrick Morrissey, born on 22 May 1959 to working-class Irish immigrants in Old Trafford and raised in Stretford, came to prominence as the frontman and lyricist of the Smiths, whom he formed with Johnny Marr in 1982 and who lasted until 1987.
