Bottom Lounge

Bottom Lounge is a music hall and restaurant at 1375 W. Lake St. in Chicago's West Loop, one and a half blocks east of the Ashland stop on the CTA Green and Pink lines. The club began in Lake View at 3206 N. Wilton; the CTA acquired that building by eminent domain in 2001 and took it for demolition in 2005 for the Brown Line capacity expansion, and after lawsuits over the relocation and payment Bottom Lounge reopened on Lake Street in 2008. Its main concert hall holds 700. The 18,000-square-foot building also has an upstairs warehouse-loft space for 330 standing, a rooftop deck, and a restaurant that opens from 5pm to 10pm on show days only; the restaurant and rooftop are 21 and over, while each show sets its own age limit.
