Originally in Lake View, the club was seized under eminent domain by the CTA in 2001 and demolished in 2005 for the Brown Line extension, reopening at its current home in 2008 after relocation lawsuits. Icon for Hire are an American rock band from Decatur, Illinois, formed in 2007 and now reduced to the core of singer Ariel Bloomer and lead guitarist Shawn Jump.
