A concert hall at 1375 W. Lake St. in Chicago's West Loop. Originally in Lake View, the club was seized under eminent domain by the CTA in 2001 and demolished in 2005 for the Brown Line extension, reopening at its current home in 2008 after relocation lawsuits. The main room holds 700, alongside the 300-capacity Volcano Room and a restaurant serving American Midwest fare. Wavves is the San Diego noise-pop project of Nathan Williams, whose bratty surf anthems King of the Beach and Post Acid became slacker-punk classics.
