The Usher Hall is a Category A listed concert hall in the West End of Edinburgh, Scotland, opened in 1914 and seating around 2,200 in its domed auditorium. Owned by the City of Edinburgh Council, it has staged concerts for over a century, hosted the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest, and remains a leading venue for classical and popular music. Sir George Ivan Morrison, known as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish musician, singer and songwriter whose recording career started in the 1960s.
