The Basement East is a live-music venue in the East Nashville neighbourhood of Nashville, Tennessee, the larger sibling of the original Basement club and nicknamed 'The Beast'. Destroyed by the tornado that struck Nashville in March 2020, it was rebuilt on its Woodland Street site and continues to showcase touring and local acts. Russian Circles are an American instrumental post-metal band based in Chicago, formed by childhood friends Mike Sullivan and Dave Turncrantz after their earlier projects dissolved.
