The Echo is an intimate indie and alternative music venue at 1822 West Sunset Boulevard in the Echo Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles, opened in 2001 and run by Spaceland Presents. Together with its larger downstairs room, the Echoplex, it has long been a launchpad for the city's independent bands. MARIS is an American singer-songwriter, born Maris Maddux-Ward, who won the 10th First Night Spotlight on New Year's Eve 2014 and took part in American Idol season 16 in 2017.
