A 1913 working men's club in Hyde Park, Leeds, reborn as one of Britain's best-loved independent venues. Still a social enterprise with its community-club soul intact, its two 400-cap rooms host everyone from cult heroes to arena acts playing secret shows. Man/Woman/Chainsaw started with Billy Ward and Vera Leppänen making music together at fourteen, at school, and settled into its six-piece shape in 2023 — two guitars, piano, bass, drums and Clio Starwood on violin, which is the part that gives the London band its edge.
