A 1909 Scottish Rite masonic lodge at Van Ness and Sutter, since used as a dance studio and a movie theatre before settling into its current life as a ballroom-scale San Francisco venue. L7 were founded in Los Angeles in 1985, were active until 2001 and re-formed in 2014; Suzi Gardner, Donita Sparks and Dee Plakas make up the current line-up.
