The Majestic Theatre is a 600-capacity live-music venue in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, and the city's oldest theatre. Opened in 1906 as a vaudeville house and later a cinema, it was restored in 2007 and now runs club shows and DJ nights several nights a week. Fruit Bats is the long-running folk-rock project of Eric D. Johnson, whose warm, melodic albums have been a Sub Pop and Merge staple since 2001.
