The Boiler Shop is a live music and entertainment venue in Newcastle upon Tyne, housed in the former offices and workshops of the Robert Stephenson and Company locomotive works dating from 1823. The Grade II* listed building reopened in its current form as a music venue. Cabaret Voltaire are Sheffield industrial-electronic pioneers whose tape-loop experiments from 1973 onward laid groundwork for techno and EBM; the project continues under founder Richard H. Kirk's legacy.
