A multi-purpose arena in the Heartside district of Grand Rapids, Michigan, seating 10,834 for ice hockey and up to 13,184 for concerts, which makes it the largest arena in West Michigan and the fourth-largest in the state. It opened on 8 October 1996 after a $78 million build and is named for its largest benefactors, Jay and Betty Van Andel. It is home to the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Grand Rapids Gold and the Grand Rapids Rise. Amy Grant is an American singer-songwriter who built her career in contemporary Christian music before crossing over to mainstream pop in the mid-1980s, earning her the nickname the Queen of Christian Pop.
