Shakey Graves

Shakey Graves is the stage name of Alejandro Rose-Garcia, an American musician and actor from Austin, Texas, whose music combines blues, folk, country, and rock and roll. He became known for a one-man band set up built around a modified suitcase that functions as both a kick drum and a tambourine stand, and most of his self-released 2011 debut album, Roll the Bones, features him playing solo. After signing with Dualtone Records he released And the War Came in October 2014; three of its songs, among them "Dearly Departed", were co-written by Esmé Patterson. In September 2015 he won the Best Emerging Artist award at the Americana Music Awards. A third studio album, Can't Wake Up, followed in 2018 and Movie of the Week in 2023, and his fifth, Fondness, Etc., was released on May 15, 2026.
