Mötley Crüe are the Sunset Strip's definitive glam-metal band, formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil and Mick Mars. Dr. Feelgood (1989) gave them a US number one, and their memoir The Dirt — later a Netflix film — made their offstage chaos as legendary as "Kickstart My Heart".
