A 16,500-capacity amphitheatre in The Woodlands, on Houston's northern edge — known locally as simply 'The Pavilion'. Run as a non-profit by The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands, it splits its summer between touring rock and pop and its own performing-arts season. Mötley Crüe are the Sunset Strip's definitive glam-metal band, formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil and Mick Mars.
