Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper is an American rock singer, born Vincent Furnier in Detroit in 1948, who pioneered theatrical 'shock rock' first with a band of the same name formed in Phoenix in 1964 and later as a solo artist. Fusing hard rock and glam with horror-movie spectacle, he scored enduring hits including 'School's Out', 'I'm Eighteen' and the 1989 comeback single 'Poison', across albums such as the US number-one Billion Dollar Babies. The original band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011, and he has sold tens of millions of records over six decades. He is best known for his stage shows — elaborate productions built around guillotines, snakes and mock executions that helped define hard rock as live theatre.
