Feesterrein

The room

The Feesterrein (festival grounds) is the beating heart of Aardklop, the national Afrikaans arts festival that has taken over the university town of Potchefstroom every spring since 1998. For festival week the grounds host the Terreinverhoog (grounds stage) and the market, food and beer-garden life between shows, while theatre, comedy and concert programmes run in halls across town. A grounds day-ticket covers the Terreinverhoog music line-up.

When is Momentum Aardklop 2026?

29 September to 3 October 2026 in Potchefstroom, with the wider festival programme running through to 4 October. The feesterrein on the banks of the Mooirivier is open 09:00 to 20:00 each day, and the terreinkroeg stays open until 23:00.

How much is a ticket to the Aardklop feesterrein?

R80 on Tuesday and Wednesday, R120 from Thursday to Saturday, or R350 for the whole week. Under-12s go free. Buy at Seatme.co.za, the Aardklop office at The Roots, or the entrance gates — but bring a card, because no cash is accepted at the gates or the office.

Is there parking at the Aardklop feesterrein?

Yes, and it is included — secure parking sits close to the grounds, entered from Hennie Bingle Street. Between the festival's venues there is a shuttle at R20 a trip, paid with vouchers bought in advance from R40 to R400; the drivers take no cash.

What time do the bands play on the Aardklop terreinverhoog?

The outdoor stage opens mid-afternoon — 13:00 on the Friday and Saturday, between 14:20 and 15:00 earlier in the week — and the headline slot is 21:00 every single night. Aardklop publishes the full running order in advance on its own feesterrein page rather than leaving it to the night.
