The Feesterrein (festival grounds) is the beating heart of Aardklop, the national Afrikaans arts festival that has taken over the university town of Potchefstroom every spring since 1998. For festival week the grounds host the Terreinverhoog (grounds stage) and the market, food and beer-garden life between shows, while theatre, comedy and concert programmes run in halls across town. A grounds day-ticket covers the Terreinverhoog music line-up.
