The Feesterrein (festival grounds) is the beating heart of Aardklop, the national Afrikaans arts festival that has taken over the university town of Potchefstroom every spring since 1998. For festival week the grounds host the Terreinverhoog (grounds stage) and the market, food and beer-garden life between shows, while theatre, comedy and concert programmes run in halls across town. A grounds day-ticket covers the Terreinverhoog music line-up. Joshua na die Reën is the Afrikaans indie-folk project of Joshua Prinsloo — hushed, literary songs that made him one of the scene's most acclaimed young voices.
