A beloved 1,100-capacity concert hall in Chicago, split between a main floor and balcony, that has championed local, regional and national emerging acts since it first opened in 1982. Formerly the Stages Music Hall and Cabaret Metro, the building also houses the Smart Bar nightclub tucked beneath the main venue. Whitney are a Chicago duo formed from Smith Westerns' ashes, whose falsetto country-soul debut Light Upon the Lake became an indie touchstone.
