A theatre in Downtown Los Angeles that opened in 1926, ran as a playhouse and briefly as a movie theatre, and closed in 1950. After decades of other uses the building was renovated and reopened as a music venue called The Belasco in 2011; Live Nation has operated it since 2020. Wavves is the San Diego noise-pop project of Nathan Williams, whose bratty surf anthems King of the Beach and Post Acid became slacker-punk classics.
