A jazz club that started in New York on 15 December 1949 at 1678 Broadway, just north of West 52nd Street, and closed in 1965 as rents rose. The name was revived in 1986 with a second club, now in Manhattan's Theater District not far from the original address. Vince Giordano is an American bass saxophonist and the leader of the New York-based Nighthawks Orchestra, who specialise in the jazz of the 1920s and 1930s — Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington — played on the instruments of the period.
