Buxton Opera House is a 902-seat Edwardian theatre in the Derbyshire spa town of Buxton, opened in 1903 to a design by Frank Matcham. Grade II* listed, it hosts the annual Buxton Festival and International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival alongside touring music, drama and pantomime. Tom Bailey came to prominence in the early 1980s as the lead vocalist of the new wave band Thompson Twins, whose "Love On Your Side", "We Are Detective", "Hold Me Now", "Doctor!
