O2 Academy2 Birmingham is the mid-sized, 600-capacity standing room within the O2 Academy Birmingham complex on Horsefair, Bristol Street, in the city centre. It hosts club nights and rising touring acts a tier below the venue's roughly 3,000-capacity main hall. The Molotovs are siblings Mathew and Issey Cartlidge, from London, who formed the band in 2020 as The Mocktales and renamed it for the cocktail and, as Mathew put it, their rebellious energy.
