The building goes back to the early 1900s as a nickelodeon and spent the 1960s as a regional theatre led by Andre Gregory; the venue in its present form opened in 1988. It is known for its acoustics. The Linda Lindas are an American punk band from Los Angeles — Eloise Wong, the sisters Lucia and Mila de la Garza, and Bela Salazar.
