Taper Auditorium — formally the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium — is the 2,500-seat main concert hall of Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle, Washington, and the home of the Seattle Symphony. The Chicks — Natalie Maines and the sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer — began in Dallas in 1989 as the Dixie Chicks, busking and working the bluegrass festival circuits and small venues for six years with a different line-up.
