The largest multi-purpose facility in Atlantic Canada, in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, with its main entrances on Brunswick Street at the foot of Citadel Hill. It opened on 17 February 1978 as the Halifax Metro Centre and was built into the ground to compensate for the steep slope of its site, so spectators can see cars at street level outside while watching an event. Owned by the municipality and operated by Events East, it was renamed after Scotiabank won the naming rights in 2014. The Black Keys are an American rock duo formed in Akron, Ohio, in 2001 by guitarist-singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney, who had known each other since childhood.
