The Basement East is a live-music venue in the East Nashville neighbourhood of Nashville, Tennessee, the larger sibling of the original Basement club and nicknamed 'The Beast'. Destroyed by the tornado that struck Nashville in March 2020, it was rebuilt on its Woodland Street site and continues to showcase touring and local acts. Catherine Grace Garner performs as Slayyyter, an American singer and songwriter whose electropop production and brash, sex-positive lyricism first found an audience on SoundCloud, where she released songs independently.
