The Basement East is a live-music venue in the East Nashville neighbourhood of Nashville, Tennessee, the larger sibling of the original Basement club and nicknamed 'The Beast'. Destroyed by the tornado that struck Nashville in March 2020, it was rebuilt on its Woodland Street site and continues to showcase touring and local acts. Protomartyr are an American post-punk band formed in Detroit in 2010, made up of Joe Casey, Greg Ahee, Alex Leonard and Scott Davidson.
