A nightclub and concert venue at 125 East 11th Street in the East Village, Manhattan, and one of New York's most historically significant event halls — built in 1886 as a hall for hire and recognised as the first modern nightclub. The current incarnation opened in 1992 with a capacity of 1,400. The city's Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the building on 18 March 2008. Melanie C is Sporty Spice of the record-breaking Spice Girls, whose solo career — including Never Be the Same Again — made her the member with the most UK number ones.
