Scala is a live music venue and nightclub on Pentonville Road in London, near King's Cross station, in a building that opened in 1920 as the King's Cross Cinema. It spent over 70 years as a cinema — mainstream, art-house and adult film, and for a while a primatarium — and in the summer of 1972 hosted Iggy & The Stooges' only UK concert, the night Mick Rock took the photographs used on the Raw Power sleeve. It closed in 1993 after Warner Bros. sued over a screening of A Clockwork Orange, and reopened in 1999 with the lower seating area rebuilt as a stage and dancefloor and the upper tier turned into a second room. Little Grandad are an English rock band signed to Communion Music, made up of brothers Harry Lower on guitar and lead vocals and Jack Lower on bass and lead vocals, with Ned Ashcroft on guitar and trumpet and James "Jimmy" Brennan on drums.
