The De La Warr Pavilion is a Modernist arts centre on the seafront at Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, designed by Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff and opened in 1935 as one of Britain's first welded-steel-frame public buildings. Grade I listed and restored in 2005, it pairs a concert auditorium with one of the largest galleries on England's south coast. Hothouse Flowers are a Dublin band mixing Irish soul, gospel and rock, whose 1988 debut People became one of Ireland's most successful debut albums.
