The Mathew Street cellar where The Beatles played nearly 300 lunchtime and evening shows between 1961 and 1963 — rebuilt with the original bricks, and still staging bands daily. Hed PE came out of the Huntington Beach hardcore punk scene in 1994, formed by vocalist Jared Gomes and guitarist Wes Geer and named for a Gomes song called Heavy Head.
