Queensland Country Bank Stadium is a 25,455-capacity stadium at 2 Pride Close, Railway Estate, on the edge of central Townsville. It was built between 2017 and 2020 to a Cox Architecture and Counterpoint Architecture design, opened on 22 February 2020 and replaced the ageing Willows Sports Complex as the city's main stadium. Stadiums Queensland operates it and the North Queensland Cowboys are its tenants; it is due to host matches at the 2027 Rugby World Cup and football preliminaries at the 2032 Summer Olympics. Guns N' Roses are the Los Angeles hard-rock band whose 1987 debut Appetite for Destruction remains the best-selling US debut album ever; Axl, Slash and Duff still headline stadiums worldwide.
