Cat's Cradle is a music club in Carrboro, North Carolina, near the University of North Carolina, with rooms holding 750 and 200; it helped define the early-1990s Chapel Hill scene, hosting acts such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Sonic Youth. Fruit Bats is the long-running folk-rock project of Eric D. Johnson, whose warm, melodic albums have been a Sub Pop and Merge staple since 2001.
