An intimate, independent room in Camden Town, five minutes' walk from the tube, founded in 2005 by two music-loving friends. Folk, Americana, country and bluegrass through to blues, roots, world and jazz, with a gig on every night — plus a vegetarian café-bar and a basement piano bar that give it the feel of a 1960s coffee-shop music parlour. Kerttu is a Finnish singer-songwriter and self-proclaimed island girl whose powerful yet delicate voice and guitar work move between original songs and the traditional Finnish folk songs and lullabies she has gathered through her life.
