The Crescent is a grassroots live-music venue at 8 The Crescent in York, England, housed in a former working men's club near the city's railway station and given over to touring independent and emerging bands. Focus are the Dutch prog-rock band of Thijs van Leer, whose yodelling 1971 instrumental Hocus Pocus remains one of rock's most gloriously strange hits.
