A 1936 National Guard armory in downtown Minneapolis, built by the Public Works Administration and on the National Register of Historic Places. It housed the Minneapolis Lakers before the NBA left town, sat through decades of other uses, and is now one of the city's biggest and most striking rooms. Dermot Kennedy is an Irish singer-songwriter from Dublin whose husky, anthemic folk-pop on Without Fear made him an arena act across Europe.
