A historic theater at 620 T Street NW in Washington, D.C., open since 1910 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Billed as the "Theater of the People," it was a cornerstone for African-American audiences and the great Black artists of the early-to-mid 20th century. After a major restoration, it reopened in 2012 with headliners including Chaka Khan. Death From Above 1979 is a Canadian dance-punk duo from Toronto, formed in 2001 by drummer-vocalist Sebastien Grainger and bassist Jesse F. Keeler.
