The Commodore Ballroom is a music venue and dance hall on Granville Street in Vancouver, built in the late Art Deco style. It is widely regarded as Canada's most influential nightclub and one of the best live rooms in North America, known for its sprung dance floor. Cat Power is Chan Marshall, the Atlanta-born songwriter whose smoky, unguarded records — from Moon Pix to The Greatest and her Dylan '66 concert recreation — made her an indie icon.
